Kibra MP Ken Okoth and his Dagoretti North counterpart Simba Arati were on Sunday chased away from the Supreme Court precincts by police.
This came after the two, in the company of other NASA leaders, tried to stage a prayer function seeking divine intervention for their leaders in the presidential petition.
They were also with Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga and Suba South MP John Mbadi. After the police on horseback dispersed the gathering, some supporters started engaging them in running battles.
The prayer groupings have been defended by NASA leader Raila Odinga who has criticised the police for not understanding the law.
"We don't seek any permission...the law is very clear...that police officer does not understand the law. We are past permissions. He needs to read the law better," Raila said, referring to Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome.
