Last weekend was a pivotal day for Kibera politics after Raila Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga declared her interest for the Kibra seat. The move is seen by many political analyst as Raila Odinga's plan to introduce her daughter as his political heir.On Tuesday morning during Citizen TV Power Breakfast Show,  Kibra MP Ken Okoth responded on the new political development in his constituency."I am a child born in Kibra and I have a proven track record. I am a child of the home," said Okoth.Okoth went further to state that he was open to competition from Rosemary Odinga without any fear of intimidation."I support women and Rosemary is welcome to Kibra, I promise her that we will face-off on matters issues and no one will attack her with unnecessary propaganda. In fact, I allow challenges because I believe the higher the challenge the bigger the glory," said Okoth. The first time Kibra MP also reaffirmed his unwavering support for the ODM party and vowed that he will never be a one term MP but will seek to emulate his predecessor Raila Odinga."I am a loyal member of ODM and we are going to fight for the nomination ticket with Rosemary. I can also assure you I have no intention of serving for one term," added Okoth. However, political analyst Barack Muluka who was also present on the panel told Okoth to come up with a backup strategy because he feels it will be hard for him to win ODM's nomination ticket with Rosemary as his competitor.
