Women group from Kibra Constituency have appealed to the government to conduct an investigation into the alleged rape cases at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).  KNH is allocated at Kibra constituency and receives thousands of patients from within and outside the country, some of them from Kibera slum who are admitted during delivery and other medical services.  Hamida Twahir chairperson from Kibera Local Forum said she was perturbed by the reports about KNH and now wants the administration to locate the incubator section near the delivery wards.

''Our president has four key pillars, one of them being affordable healthcare, a package with an underpinning of protection, accessibility, and service delivery with dignity to all. We call upon Mr. Mailu (Cleopa) the cabinet secretary for health, to make sure that all lactating mothers at KNH are allocated to the first floor as measures to curb this situation," she said.

She called for stringent measures against the culprits. Miss Hannar Gathoni says that KNH should honour the government's commitment towards free maternity for women and provide security to patients.
