Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has backed his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua's presidential bid in 2022 polls.
Kibwana said every Kenyan has a right to vie for presidential seat regardless of his tribe or experience.
He said just like Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, the Machakos governor deserves political support without criticism.
Kibwana gave his Machakos counterpart the go-ahead to hunt for votes in Machakos county.
"If Mutua comes to Makueni, we will welcome him 100 percent, now and even in future. Both Mutua and Kalonzo are hunting and they should be given a chance to capture something for our Kamba nation," Kibwana said.
He spoke during a fundraiser at Starshine Secondary School in Makindu, Makueni County on Saturday.
Kibwana said he had spoken with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and agreed on avoiding in-house conflicts for the sake of the Kamba community.
He said conflicts had derailed development in the region.
Mutua who attended the same function vowed to deliver the presidential seat to the community.
He said his main reason for vying for the seat is to ensure development to every corner of the world.
"Who said a Kamba woman cannot give birth to a president, this is our chance to capture the top seat," Mutua said.
Mutua said he will join calls to unite the community ahead of 2022 general elections.
Mutua will battle it out in the ballot with Deputy President William Ruto, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, among others for the 2022 presidential race.
