Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has urged Kamba community top pray for Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid in the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Addressing supporters in at Nzambani ward in Kitui East on Thursday, Kibwana said that Kalonzo’s bid in NASA is real and that he needs prayers to cement it.

The Governor said that Ukambani has a chance of producing the next president if Kalonzo’s bid in NASA sails through.

“We must pray and support Kalonzo so that his dream of being the next president if fulfilled through NASA’s endorsement,” he said as quoted by the People daily.

Kibwana stated that Kalonzo is NASA’s best bet to send President Uhuru Kenyatta packing in August.

He noted that Kalonzo has the qualities needed to be the country’s next president.

Kibwana urged Kamba community to unite and rally behind Kalonzo Musyoka.

He dismissed those questioning Kalonzo’s bid saying that they are envious. The Governor said that Ukambani must unite for development.

“Selfish and backbiting politics will not help Kamba people, we need to unite for a common goal,” he added.

Kibwana is among Kamba politicians rooting for Kalonzo’s presidential endorsement in NASA.

Last week Kalonzo’s bid received a major boost after Narc leader Charity Ngilu pledged to support him.

Ngilu said that Ukambani is willing to deliver 2 Million votes to NASA on condition that it endorses Musyoka as its presidential flag bearer.

Kalonzo alongside other NASA leaders Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are eyeing to fly the alliance ticket in August.

Claims of disunity are however emerging in the alliance on who should be picked to fly the presidential ticket.

Sources say that NASA has identified its flag bearer and will unveil the candidate before the end of this month.

This comes as a section of Ukambani politicians allied to Kalonzo pile pressure on ODM leader Raila Odinga to honour the MoU he signed with Kalonzo in 2013.

It is said that Raila and Kalonzo signed a pre-election pact in 2013 for the ODM leader to contest the 2013 polls and later support Kalonzo’s presidential bid in 2017.

Raila has been quoted trashing the 2013 MoU with Wiper saying that scenarios changed and that he was not elected in 2013, therefore the MoU becomes null and void.
