Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana has said that he will go back to his Muungano Party if Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka does not give him a direct ticket as agreed.

Kibwana has asked Kalonzo to assure him of a direct ticket before the next general elections or else he will make a U-turn.

The Governor, who decided to abandon his party after several leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka, asked him to do so.  He has affirmed that he will not be subjected to primaries and is not ready to negotiate over the matter.

Kibwana said that he agreed to join Kalonzo after he promised to present him with a direct ticket. The outspoken governor asked the former Vice President to settle wrangles within the party before he makes another move.

“We had a deal with Kalonzo that he will give me a direct nomination in Wiper once I abandon my Muungano Party. I held my part of the bargain and he has to hold his or else I will defect back to my party,” Kibwana stated as quoted by Daily Post.

A number of Wiper leaders have continued to express dissatisfaction over Kalonzo’s preference to some aspirants.
