Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has rubbished claims by a lobby group led by Kalonzo' former partner at the defunct Musyoka Wambua & Katiku Advocates, Musili Wambua that had assured to deliver President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto at least 350,000 votes from Makueni, Machakos and Kitui counties.

Kibwana, who spoke on Thursday, said that the group will not meet the target despite giving the head of state assurance. Earlier on, Musili had said that he will work with other professionals to rally the electorate behind Jubilee in the forthcoming general polls to enable them it retain power when that time comes.

Kibwana said that the residents of Ukambani no longer have trust in the current leadership, adding that they will back the National Super Alliance(NASA) in the upcoming general polls.

“They will not succeed because the people are against Uhuru’s government. The projects they were promised were not implemented,” he told Star.

He added that the voters from this part of the nation are tired of backing leaders who make empty promises to the people.

“Our people are tired of selfish leaders. They have said they want to speak with one voice and vote for leaders who will honour their pledges."
