Makueni governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana says that his administration will focus on employment creation and infrastructure development in his last term as governor.
Kibwana says that he wants to leave a legacy of progressive development once his term comes to an end.
In an interview with the People Daily, the Wiper governor said that his focus is to create 150,000 jobs every year and empower women and persons living with disabilities.
Kibwana said that entrepreneurship is part of his plan for job creation.
Professor Kibwana indicated that his government will establish an entrepreneurship fund to push job creation agenda forward.
“My key focus as I take office for a second term is to create jobs, boost infrastructure, grow the economy and empower women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs),” he said as quoted by the People Daily.
Kibwana said that he will be allocating more funds towards completing the development projects he has started.
“I want to leave a legacy as governor who fulfilled all the development pledges he made and transformed resident’s lives,” he said.
Kibwana urged residents to work with his government closely. He promised to ensure equal distribution of resources to all sub counties.
Kibwana, who won re-election in the recently concluded general election pleaded with other elected leaders to support him actualize the development dream for residents.
The governor specifically called on elected and nominated MCAs to work diligently and pass laws and policies that will better residents.
