Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has said that leaders from Ukambani have not come together to rally the electorate behind Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka because of his tribe but his leadership skills.
Kibwana, former Water CS Charity Ngilu and Chama Cha Uzalendo leader Wavinya Ndeti argue that Kalonzo is the best candidate the national Super Alliance ( NASA) should front to battle it out with President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the August election.
"We are supporting Kalonzo not based on his ethnicity but because he has what it takes to be the president Kenya needs. We are glad that Kalonzo and Ngilu have sat and decided to work together," he said, as quoted by the Star.
Ngilu reiterated Kibwana’s remark saying that she chose to work with Kalonzo to change this nation.
"The best leadership in our nation will now be seen by Kalonzo and I working together. Nasa principals must agree that there is need to have the best so that the country can move forward," she said.
On her part, Wavinya Ndeti said that Kalonzo will require the support of Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga before he can be named NASA flag bearer before the August election.
"Wiper MPs should accept reality and know there is no way Kalonzo can be NASA's flag bearer without Raila's backing," she said.
