Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has urged opposition supporters not to attack Jubilee supporters or destroy property ahead of Thursday rerun.
Kibwana, who spoke to farmers on Monday at Kwa Kathoka Agricultural Training Centre, said that every Kenya has a democratic right to vote or not to vote. He also said that individuals who are planning to attack others will face dire consequences.
“Kenyans are entitled to their right to demonstrate and picket. I urge those demonstrating not to destroy property or attack fellow Kenyans,” Kibwana said.
The county boss asked the supporters of the opposition to remain in their homes and prepare their farms in readiness of the upcoming rain. Kibwana further said that the leaders of the opposition have agreed not to take part in the fresh election because the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has failed to meet their demands.
“I urge you to spend the day and your valuable time in your farms preparing for the rains, because there will be no election on October 26. We have made a decision as NASA not to participate in an election that will not be free and fair,” Kibwana said.
