The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) held its annual Education Week from June 27 to June 30, in Nairobi.

The workshop was held to teach the staff and interested parties on the relevance of practicing quality management skills. 

The workshop was commissioned by the deputy CEO Dr. John Kimotho who was representing the CEO Dr. Julius Jwan who was committed elsewhere.

The main themes of the workshop were management skills, national cohesion and national values, statutory obligations, work-life balance, service delivery innovations, disability mainstreaming and security and safety measures. 

The staff at KICD was expected to get the relevant skills from all the speakers in the workshop.

The workshop had various speakers like Mr. Julius Nyabu of National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) who talked about national cohesion and national values and Mrs. Mercy Mugure of Safaricom who talked about gender mainstreaming. 

Other speakers included Dr. Geoffrey Wango of Nairobi University, Mrs. Anne Mueni of Kenya Industrial and Research Institute, Mrs. Margaret Kola of the Kenya Bureau of Standards among others.

The meeting was brought to a close on Thursday with the officiator of the workshop, Mrs. Rachel Mwangi of KICD, calling on all her colleagues to go and employ the relevant skills gained in their areas of work.
