It has now become normal to be held on your arm as you go through certain streets in Kisii Town by one or two prostitutes trying to woe you for their services.
The locals now want the prostitutes out of town saying they are a danger to their values and morals.
“It is very embarrassing when walking with your daughter a prostitute dressed half-naked start hawking her services to you,"said Willy Sang a resident.
"I was shocked and to make it worse she was holding my hand refusing to let go. I grew furious that is when she surrendered," added Sang.
"The county government should evict them from the town,” he said.
Some claim that their continued stay in the town can lead to the increase in cases of HIV/AIDS in the region.
“These prostitutes are the main causes of HIV/Aids. The county government should deal with the issue urgently," said Debra Mworotsi a resident of Kisii.
They also raised the concern of students dropping out of school to engage in prostitution.
