Orange Democratic movement (ODM) party is set to give nomination certificates to its unopposed candidates in the upcoming August 8 polls.
Nairobi governor Evans Kidero is among unopposed hopefuls who will be issued the nomination certificate to seek for re-election of his current seat.
According to a statement from the ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale, candidates who do not have political rivals will not pass through the nomination process.
“There are some aspirants who do not have opponents. Such aspirants will not be subjected to nominations hence qualifying for automatic nomination to vie for the seats applied for,” Etale said.
“It is with this background that NEB has elected Monday the 3rd of April as the day for the presentation of nomination certificates to unopposed aspirants,” he added.
The event would take place at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi.
