The just signed bill was brought into the house and sponsored by the County Assembly speaker, Alex Ole Magelo.

Kidero applauded the Appropriation Act stating that it was a new dawn for the city-county in prioritizing on its expenditure.

‘'This marks an important milestone in our development journey. The Act provides a budget of Sh36 billion," said the county boss.

On the same note, the governor further signed the Ward Development Fund (Amendment act 2016) into law, saying the fund will spur developments at the grass root levels.

"It has come right on time that we align this important legislation to the Constitution. The full implementation of the Act will ensure more targeted development at the grassroots,’' said Kidero.

The signing of the two bills comes at a time when the city MCAs had distanced themselves from passing the county's budgetary allocations for the 2016/17 financial year.

However, the budget was later passed after Kidero yielded to the demands of the County Assembly members.
