"I would like to assure Nairobi residents that the Nairobi City County government budget will be passed in the coming week when the County Assembly resumes its sitting. We have some of the most intelligent and responsible MCAs in the Country. I can assure you that all the 127 MCAs will pass the budget in the coming week," stated Kidero.

According to him, the issues surrounding the budgetary allocation and approval are small and can be handled without sacrificing on the well-being of the city residents.

The budget failed to get approval by the MCAs on Thursday as a number of them vowed to paralyze the process until when the finance department yields to their demands of releasing the Ward Development Funds.

Led by the majority leader, Elias Otieno, the MCAs cited frustration by the county's finance department as one of their reasons for not approving the budgetary allocations.
