The team, led by Mike Sonko also accused Kidero or ruining the city, and not living true to the promises he made for the people of Nairobi.

This comes as Kidero, who will be defending his seat on a Nasa ticket questions the academic qualifications of Jubilee senatorial aspirant Johnson Sakaja.

The contest for the capital’s top seat has in the last days become murkier, with the front runners engrossed in a battle that is turning personal.

During a church service in Kawangware, the Nasa team led by Governor Evans Kidero chose to tear into their Jubilee opponents, calling them a bunch of failures.

Kidero more specifically tore into Sakaja, calling him an academic dwarf.

“Bwana Sakaja, mbeleni alikua anasema anataka kuwa gavana, nikamwambia wacha kupoteza wakati, huwezi kuwa gavana maana hauna degree, (Mr. Sakaja, stop wasting your time vying for the gubernatorial, you cannot be the governor since you don’t have a degree),” said Kidero.

“In 2007, he did seven subjects and failed in four, he score E’s in four. He was told to repeat his exams and he did not. If I am lying, I challenge him to display his certificates,” he added.

According to the Jubilee team, Kidero is becoming personal because he had failed to work for the people of Nairobi.

“Peter Kenneth understands very well he cannot win, but then he does not want the Jubilee party to win,” said Sakaja.
