Kisii based don Nyachieo Bogonko believes Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is the only ideal candidate to be the spokesperson of the Luo Nyanza should ODM leader Raila Odinga retire from politics.
The Nairobi Governor has been making inroads to Nyanza region and on Saturday reassured ODM supporters that he would fund the former Prime Minister fully for 2017 polls.
In an interview with the reporter on Monday, the historian said Kidero’s finances and long-term experience in management was enough to earn him the opportunity to serve people from his backyard.
“When I try to assess Luo Nyanza politics, I can easily settle on Kidero as Raila’s replacement given his financial prowess. He has also been in management for several years and that counts when you want to control a population,” he said.
“Having the resources alone will enable him to control people from the political sphere and that is very important. He is the only person ready for the task because other leaders are only confined to their constituencies,” he added.
He, however, admitted that the transition may not be easy and predicted little resistance from people who have been in the establishment.
“Some view him as an outsider and the small resistance would be evident. But that is a small factor and may not change things as it stands,” he said.
