Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero has said that the Dandora dumpsite is still a menace to the residents of the area. The dumpsite has left Nairobi County government pondering on the best possible ways of managing the garbage and the dumpsite. Speaking in a meeting with Japanese Minister for Environment, Tadahiko Ito in Nairobi, Kidero said the county government is working round the clock to come up with a long lasting solution to the dumpsite's garbage."The county government is working on the best ways of managing the waste. The county is also looking for ways of recycling the garbage at the dumpsite and also setting up an energy plant in the area in a bid to work on reducing the garbage at the dumpsite," said Kidero.Kidero also said that a deal with the Japanese government in coming up with ways to manage the waste was in progress.Also in attendance were Japan's Yokohama city mayor, Fumiko Hayashi, and solid waste management experts from Japan.
