Faithfuls of Kibera Church of God on Sunday had a reason to smile as the Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero paid them a visit.
The church received a a sum of sh1 million from the governor that is to be used towards development projects in the church.
According to Ruth Akoth, a member of the church, the move by the governor was a surprise to them but also an answered prayer.
‘‘We were thinking he could only give us something like sh100 thousand. When the congregation heard that he was giving out sh1 million shillings, they were too excited. We were celebrating an answered prayer,’’ she said.
Akoth mentioned that the governor came in when the church really needed money. She revealed that the church needed some cash to build houses for the pastors and do some other projects.
