Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero on Monday joined leaders from Ukambani in rallying the electorate behind NASA presidential torchbearer Raila Amolo Odinga. Kidero tour in the region comes less than three months before the next general elections.
The governor, who was accompanied by former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti, asked the residents of Machakos to turn out in large numbers to ensure that Raila, a former prime minister, becomes the next president of this country.
The county boss said that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have failed to lead this nation to prosperity hence they do not deserve to rule for another five years.
“We are calling upon the people of Machakos to come out in large numbers and send Jubilee home on August 8 because they have proven themselves incapable,” Kidero, a close ally of Cord leader said, as Star quoted.
On her part, Ndeti criticized the current government for hoodwinking Kenyans with projects of past regimes
“Uhuru and Ruto have no vision for this country. Everything they are doing was started by former President Mwai Kibaki and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. That is what they are using to campaign," she said.
Ndeti is contesting against Governor Alfred Mutua and his Deputy Bernard Kiala, an independent candidate.
