Former Nairobi governor Mr Evans Kidero has yet again been caught up in allegations that he failed to account for Sh21 billion when he left the office, an audit report by KPMG has revealed.
The auditors said from the handover report submitted by Kidero some files were missing and there was no trace of some payments hence the inability to account for the money.
The audit also found that their statutory deductions amounting to Sh22.8 billion was also not remitted during Kidero tenure.
Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko said that he would take legal action on those who looted county money.
KPMG also said it had a hard time getting finer details on the missing funds because the banks that held the accounts failed to respond when they were approached.
