Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has expressed fears that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Campaigns Junet Mohamed is secretly planning to rig him out during the forthcoming ODM nominations for the Nairobi county gubernatorial ticket.

In a letter directed to the ODM party secretary general Agnes Zani, Kidero claimed that while he was at a popular city restaurant last week, the Suna East legislator loudly bragged that he (Kidero) will never be the party’s ticket bearer.

With the statement, Kidero now feels the party has already decided to openly deny him the gubernatorial ticket, a fact that Junet has dismissed.

With the revelations, the ODM party primaries now lie at the weighing balance given that previous nomination exercises have been marred with chaos, specifically from the men in "black suit."

However, the party on Wednesday issued a statement signed by its Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen, saying the nominations exercise would be free and fair.

“ODM party nomination exercise is solely reserved for the National Elections Board (NEB) which is the only body mandated to give the timetable together with the modus operandi of the nominations,” read the official statement in part.
