Nominated MCA Mohamed Abdi has made a sensational claim that Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero met Cord leader Raila Odinga on Friday as a way to avoid an impeachment motion against him yet to be tabled at City Hall.
"The governor now wants Raila to reign in on Cord MCAs to drop the motion. He is desperate as he knows already the threshold has been reached to impeach him," Abdi said.
According to the Jubilee MCA, the county boss has failed the residents with the hawkers menace, never-ending traffic jams and poor roads being cited as enough reason why the former Mumias Sugar boss should be sent parking.
Viwandani MCA Sam Nyang'wara of ODM has drafted a motion to impeach Dr Kidero and has so far collected 65 signatures in support of the governor's ouster.
According to the constitution, only a third of the MCAs are required to initiate the impeachment motion and Nyang'wara says that the process will start when Parliament resumes on September 20.
