Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has pledged to ensure he unites all candidates across parties in Nairobi County to commit to peaceful campaigns ahead of the August general poll.
Speaking at Our Lady of Guadeloupe Church in Kibra on Sunday, the governor said that as the country's capital Nairobi has to lead by example through holding peaceful elections right from party nominations to the General Election.
“As soon as the nominations are over and both Nasa and Jubilee have their teams, I am going to call for a meeting for all the candidates in Nairobi from MCAs, MPs, senators and governors,” Kidero said.
He assured ODM supporters that the party will not repeat the 2013 mistakes which saw them lose majority representation at City Hall.
