Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has all reasons to smile after a section of Nairobi MCAs allied to Cord frustrated a move to table Kidero's impeachment motion by failing to turn up and thereby causing a lack of quorum.

The meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday was then postponed to Wednesday at 2.30 pm where it is expected that the Viwandani MCA Samwel Nyangwara will table it again for discussion.

The Nairobi county assembly speaker Alex Ole Magelo noted that the impeachment motion lacked quorum and could not proceed as was expected.

"Honourable members since we have no quorum to carry the business of the day, the House is adjourned until tomorrow," directed the Speaker.

"So the business that was on the order paper will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2.30 pm," he added.

In other news, Governor Kidero's lawyer George Kithi has warned the Nairobi Members of County Assembly that they must follow the law after a court on Monday stopped any motion aiming at Kidero's impeachment.

Kithi said that proceeding with the motion will compel the court to take necessary legal action against City Hall.

"Any attempt, therefore, to discuss anything outside the framework of the court order is illegal and will attract consequences for contempt of court," he said.

This happens even as Kidero waits for the court's decision on his appeal challenging his impeachment motion on 7th November this year.
