Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero now claims that Jubilee Party is in panic mode ahead of the election slated for August 8.
Speaking during a church service at Africa Inland Church in Pipeline, Kidero alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were planning to rig the poll after realising they can't defeat the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
“They have sensed defeat with16 days to go and are now deploying all dirty tactics to retain power,” he said on Sunday.
The Governor further dismissed his rival Mike Sonko of Jubilee terming him a 'crook' who is not qualified to govern the county's capital.
"It is not everybody who can become the governor of Nairobi. We want a person of sober mind who can be trusted to manage county resources efficiently," he added.
The ODM candidate will be facing Jubilee's Sonko and independents Peter Kenneth and Miguna Miguna.
