Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has made history by becoming the first governor to petition Senate.
Kidero appeared before the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee to make the petition to the House over payments due to his government by the Defence Department from a parcel of land in Embakasi belonging to the armed men.
According to the governor, the Defence Department owes the county government Sh61.5B accrued over time.
Kidero also called upon the Senate to make a legislation that would set out elaborate procedures for amicable and expeditious resolutions of all disputes between the National and County governments so as to avoid lengthy and sometimes costly litigation processes that come between the two levels of government.
