Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero is pleading with NASA leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta to sit down and discuss issues of the country so as to avert the current stalemate.

In an article he wrote with the Star, Kidero said that the two held the keys to the country's peace and stability, adding that tools of implementing the constitution cannot resolve the heat in the country.

"The current political impasse cannot be resolved by the IEBC or the Legislature. This country’s future lies in the hands of two people; President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga," he wrote.

"I urge the two to sit at a round table and, guided by Almighty God and sober leaders, negotiate the future of this country," he added.

Kidero recently lost the Nairobi governor office to Jubilee Party's Mike Sonko.
