Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has been assured of a direct nomination for the ODM Nairobi Governor slot in the 2017 general elections.

Cord coalition principal Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday declared that his Wiper party would not field another candidate to compete with Kidero in the tough race that has already attracted political heavyweights.

"Kidero, you have no challenger as long as Cord remains together... for that, prepare yourself for a second term," he said as quoted by the Standard.

Mr Musyoka made these remarks in the presence of Cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetang'ula at an event celebrating his African Dignitary Man of The Year Award.
