Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has revealed that a total of 1,180 pieces of public land has been grabbed by senior Nairobi cartels in the fashion of former city councilors.

The land apparently grabbed belongs mostly to public schools. The governor warned the cartels to stop or face legal action.

"We will not allow selfish individuals to take land meant for school development for our children and turn it into their own use. This terrible habit must stop," he said.

Kidero claimed that former councilors of the defunct City Council were the individuals at the epi-center of land grabbing.

"The former city council and former councilors had a horrible habit of stealing land and this is a classic example.," said Kidero.

Kidero also hit at Peter Kenneth supporters saying they are land grabbers who have racked billions of shillings and are fighting him because he has fought their appetite for public land in the city.

“There are people opposed to me because I have refused them to continue stealing public land and so long as I am the governor which I will continue up to 2022 no school land will be stolen,” said Kidero.
