Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero has announced that the ground breaking ceremony for the launch of the USD 3B Housing project is set for July this year.
Making the announcement through his official Facebook page on Saturday, Kidero explained that the delivery of better and improved housing is one of his key flagship projects in accordance with the famous Vision 2030. He confirmed Nairobi City government's total commitment in ensuring the provision of quality and affordable housing, especially to the low income individuals in the slum areas. Kidero said that USD 3B project will soon become a reality, noting that July is the month to commence the much awaited project
The county boss also revealed that once the project reaches completion, Nairobi residents will be in a more advantaged position to buy or rent the new units at a concessionary rate, which will in turn improve their living standards to an immeasurable extend. However, the project will be funded by public-private partnerships.
In the recent past, Nairobi County has been at the forefront in ensuring that its residents get access to decent housing, with the latest being the commissioning of the Kibera houses early this month.
