Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has sent a warning to gubernatorial hopeful Peter Kenneth telling him that the region is an opposition zone.
The governor was addressing Bunge la Wananchi outside Ambassadeur Hotel in the City Centre where he urged the leader to stop dividing Kenyans along ethnic lines.
"Nairobi is Corded. We are organised and we know who our candidate will be,” Kidero said as quoted by the Star.
“You shouldn’t allow anybody to divide you because they come from this tribe or the other,” he added.
He also told Kenneth that he would lose to him just as he lost the presidential elections in 2013, adding that Kenneth would eventually run for the Member County Assembly (MCA) position.
“There are some people who wanted to ‘wesmake’ (we can make it for) President, but they did not make it. Now they want to ‘wesmake’ governor, but they will not. And I know if it continues this way, he will ‘wesmake’ MCA,” he said.
Kidero urged the group of supporters to register as voters in large numbers and cast ballots to ensure he retains the seat and completes the projects he has initiated.
