Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has said that striking doctors were paid on Friday last week as promised.
While speaking on Wednesday, Kidero added that 36 interns were also paid through vouchers.
"We agreed with them that the balance of the arrears will be paid with September salaries which we are processing," said Kidero.
Kidero further called on striking doctors to resume work and stop politicising the matter.
However, the doctor's union through secretary general Ouma Oluga dismissed Kidero claims stating that no doctor had been paid.
"No doctor has received salaries despite the Employment and Labour Relations Court's suspension of our strike," said Oluga.
"We are still waiting... I do not know how our members can commute to work without money," he added.
Medical services within the city have been paralyzed following the strike that was suspended by the court.
