Ron has led his father to an unprecedented legal trouble after the EACC moved to court seeking to probe a foundation that carries Kidero’s name but managed by the son.

Started a few months to the 2013 election, the Evans Kidero Foundation is under the patronage of the Nairobi governor who entrusted his son with its finances.

Reportedly, Ron and the other trustees have failed to submit audited returns to the relevant regulatory authorities for the last three years. This is despite having over Sh2.7 billion in their bank accounts.

This has prompted the EACC to move to court seeking authority to investigate the activities of the foundation. The NGO registration board has threatened to freeze the foundation's accounts.

Ron is not new to high-profile controversy as in 2015, he caused his father political trouble after a social media post interpreted as an attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Raila had arrived late for the Labour Day celebrations at Uhuru Park and Ron said: “The President didn’t mince words today. Those in power must be respected. Arriving late showed utter lack of respect and decorum. And for those hecklers, the President answered you: Leo hii Gavana wa Nairobi ni Kidero. Doesn’t get any clearer than that.”

He later pulled down the post which angered many Cord supporters.
