Speaking during the launch of Kairi-Mataara road renovation exercise, Kigo commended the move by interior cabinet secretary Joseh Nkaissery, who on Tuesday interdicted the officers for the failings in the siege.

“Nkaissery did a commendable job of putting to task and holding to account Garrisa administrators and senior police officers who indeed failed in preventing the killings that left our future lawyers and pilots dead, I second the move,” said Kigo.

He further lauded China for offering $67,000 to the attack survivors.

“Many countries continue to support Kenya, and as leaders, we continue to commend countries like China that offered help to Garissa attack survivors,” said Kigo.

Kigo assured Gatundu North residents completion of his manifesto by late 2016, in a bid to foster more developments in the area.

“This road will take a couple of five months to attain full renovation before its grading is changed to a grade that will call for tarmacking, it is my duty and I assure fulfillment of my promised developments by December 2016,” added the area leader.

The road, according to Kigo is expected to use Sh62 million, before its renovation is complete.
