Speaking when he toured the area on Sunday, Kigo said that most residents are not connected to water supply.

He said that access to water is a basic service that the government needs to provide to its residents.

The MP said that with the fear of cholera outbreak, residents have been forced to buy water from supermarkets.

“Most Gatundu North households have no access to piped water. This threatens residents’ health and the Kiambu government should move in and address the issue,” he said.

Njenga urged the government to drill boreholes so as to end the water crisis being experienced in the area.

He said that he has written to Governor William Kabogo complaining over lack of piped water.

At the same time, Njenga has called for repair of drainage systems in the constituency. The MP said that most drainage systems have been destroyed by the heavy rains posing more risk to residents.
