The incident occurred on Saturday night in Kigumo, Murang'a County.

Confirming the incident, Kigumo Deputy OCPD Nathan Lukale said that the thugs who killed the cows are yet to be arrested.

He however said one of the guards who was on duty at the home at the time of the raid was taken to Kigumo police station for questioning.

Lukale confirmed that the cows were first poisoned before being cut in different body parts.

Police collected three bottles of poisonous substance that is used to kill tick in animals from the cow shed.

On his part, Kamau condemned the incident, saying this is second time it is happening.

The Kigumo MP asked Murang'a residents not to speculate on the issue until police conclude their investigations.

The thugs jumped over the fence of Kamau's farm where the cattle were reared and committed the heinous act.
