Naivasha legislator John Kihagi has cautioned youths against being used to cause violence in the area.

Speaking at Karagita estate in Naivasha on Tuesday, Kihagi said that it is unfortunate that many youths still fall prey to violence cases.

The lawmaker asked the youths to instead channel their energy and interests in matters that will promote development.

“My appeal to young people is for them to stay off violence and instead work with leaders to achieve development,” he said.

In order to ensure young people are occupied, the MP said that the constituency will mentor youths on matters development.

He observed that the availability of development funds would also help young people start businesses ventures.

The lawmaker on the same note warned politicians against using youths to disrupt peace. He asked the government to take action on politicians who incite youths to violence.

Kihagi at the same time asked the sub-county administration to involve young people in development projects.
