Naivasha Constituency MP John Kihagi has appealed to the area residents to shun leaders spreading propaganda and false information about his leadership style.
Addressing crowd in Naivasha town early Sunday, Kihagi defended his style of leadership saying that he has often prioritised welfare of his constituents.
He alleged that some politicians are keen on causing rift among locals stating that they are envious of his development record.
Kihagi said his agenda is to improve the living standards of Naivasha people and that he is not interested in petty and selfish politics.
“Naivasha people should decide on the kind of person I am based on my track record, and not some politicians playing cheap politics,” said the MP.
Kihagi state that he has no time to fight over petty matters and that he is concentrating on ensuring that locals benefit from government projects.
The MP said he has commissioned several projects across Naivasha adding that people should have confidence in him following his visible projects.
Kihagi said he will work with the county and the national government to make sure that residents access important and basic services easily.
Meanwhile, the MP urged needy students from the sub-county to apply for Bursary Funds to help them further their education.
He confirmed that the sub-county has enough funds for helping needy students. “I want to encourage needy but bright students to apply for Bursary Funds so that they do not drop out of schools because of lack of school fees,” added Kihagi.
He as well promised to fast-track programmes that will boost education standards in the sub-county. He reported that Naivasha produces top students in national examinations hence need to heavily invest in the sector.
