Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika has called upon residents to ignore remarks by National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders that the repeat presidential elections will not be held until their demands are met.Speaking during a campaign rally in Maai Mahiu on Tuesday, Kihika said the elections will go on as planned and asked residents to turn out in large numbers on October 26 to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto."Our position is clear, the elections will proceed. I want to urge the people of Nakuru and Kenyans of goodwill to reject calls by the opposition to boycott the elections. Let us turn out in large numbers on October 26 to vote for UhuruRuto. We are ready for the repeat election,” said Kihika. The former Nakuru Speaker was among leaders who had accompanied the President in a vote hunt mission that saw him make several stops in the county. The opposition NASA coalition has maintained they will boycott the polls if their demands, which include the sacking of IEBC officials alleged to have bungled the August polls, are not met.
