Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Susan Kihika has called for unity of purpose among Kenyans in light of Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua Sang's acquittal at the ICC.
She said the acquittal marks the closure of a dark chapter in Kenya’s history.
In a statement she posted on social media, Kihika said now more than ever, Kenyans should come together and work in growing their country and also show the world that Kenya’s problems can have a home-made solution.
“We must now take the opportunity to embrace each other as Kenyans and prove to the world that indeed the solution to our problems can only be home made. We will show that our unity of purpose is our strength and cohesion will be our goal,” she posted Tuesday.
She lauded Ruto for his humility and deep commitment in honouring summons at the ICC even as the sitting DP.
Kihika said he showed a lot of humility and the quest for justice to be served.
“I commend the DP for his commitment to the rule of law and his humility to subject himself to the ICC process with the hope that justice would be served. And indeed tonight, it has been served,” the post further read.
