Nakuru County assembly Speaker Susan Kihika has lashed out at county executives who fail to honour summons by various assembly committees.
This comes as the assembly committee on implementation chaired by Lakeview Ward MCA Wanyoike Wanango meets all the county executives today to review their achievements since their appointment into office.
"The guiding legal principle demarcates our roles as an assembly and that of the executive. Thus it is incumbent upon the two arms of the county government while respecting the principle of separation of powers to work in tandem," said Kihika.
Speaking on Thursday in the assembly, Kihika said that the executives must appear before the committees whenever they are required as the law provides.
"I challenge the executive to respect the power bestowed on us by the constitution to summon any person to appear before the assembly or its committees," she added.
Wanango on his part said that his committee will look into issues raised by the public and seek to find which of the 10 CeCs have been sleeping in their job.
