The Nakuru Bodaboda riders and other small traders have promised to support the Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Hon. Susan Kihika in her bid to be the next Nakuru County Senator.
This was revealed by Sammy Musyoka the chairman of the 19,000 member Nakuru Central Rift Bodaboda Riders when giving his submissions at a meeting where small business leaders met the Speaker for a consultative meeting.
Musyoka promised the speaker that his organization would support her bid because they have faith in her.
During the three hour meeting held at Stem Hotel in Nakuru, the Speaker met leaders from the informal sectors including hawkers, Bodaboda and Tuktuk riders; and other small traders operating in Nakuru town.
Mr. Hezron Manyara who is a Human Rights Defender in Nakuru town and a community leader lamented over the Nasher market which is under construction saying it was not well lit.
“The Nasher market which is currently being set up is sub-standard seeing that it’s not well lit. The drainage system within town is also not very good,” said Manyara.
Kihika said she was ready to receive the support.
“I've heard a lot about Nasher market and I will be visiting there soon with the Nakuru Town East MP Hon. David Gikaria. Maybe there is not much that I can do as a Speaker but as a mother, there is always something I can do to chip in lighting the market,” she said.
