Traders at Kikopey trading centre along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway want the Nakuru government to build them modern trading stalls.
The traders have decried poor working environment which they blame on low profits.
Speaking on Wednesday, the traders blamed the Nakuru County government for their woes.
Paul Kiptanui, a butchery owner who is also the Kikopey trader’s association treasurer, said most traders at Kikopey have no specific places to work from.
He said that they are exposed to unfavourable climatic conditions that hinder their transactions.
“Our cry is to the Nakuru government to come to our rescue and have stalls constructed for us,” said Kiptanui.
He claimed that they presented a petition to the county government early this year but nothing has been forthcoming.
At the same time, the traders have appealed for lighting of the trading centre to allow for night business.
The traders say that they are forced to close early for fear of being attacked or robbed.
