Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa has said that Jubilee government will not hesitate to arrest Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka if they go on with their illegal swearing-in set for Tuesday next week.
Speaking to journalists at the Parliament Buildings on Friday, the vocal Jubilee MP said that Raila and Kalonzo will be treated as criminals if they commit the treason crime.
He said that the law does not favour anyone, adding that Raila and Kalonzo should get ready to face the consequences if they swear themselves as president and deputy respectively.
“We are waiting for them to commit the crime and the law will take its course from there,” he said.
Ichung’wa said that NASA's swearing-in remains meaningless since president Uhuru Kenyatta is the constitutionally and legally recognized president.
He accused NASA of using the swearing-in to blackmail and intimidate the Jubilee government.
The MP alleged that Raila wants a share of the Jubilee government after losing twice in last year’s presidential election.Ichung’wa asked Kenyans to ignore Raila’s planned coronation and alleged political antics.
“Kenyans should move on with their activities on January 30 and ignore NASA’s antics that he claimed are aimed at causing bloodshed,” he added.
Ichung’wa NASA says that plan to swear in Raila and Kalonzo as the people’s president and deputy on January 30 are complete.
On Friday, the opposition alleged that Raila won last year’s August 8 presidential poll and it will use the result to swear him in on Tuesday next week.
