Bodaboda in Kikuyu Sub County has hiked their transport fee following fuel price increase country wide.
Kikuyu Sub County bodaboda sacco chairman James Njuguna said that they have hiked their prices to meet their target.
If we continue charging the way we were charging we will be recording loss,” said Njuguna.
He added that commuters should understand the reason why they have hiked the price.
Njuguna noted their business has really been affected by their prices whereby most of their customers opted to walk.
‘This is what we depend on to sustain our families. When such incidences occur we are also affected because we cannot continue charging the same way as we would be making loss,” said Njuguna.
He added that once the petrol prices drop they will also drop their charges.
Hillary Njenga, a resident, said that the fuel prices have affected commuters noting that he has been using bodaboda but for now he has to walk.
Njenga continues that despite security that bodaboda offers during the night it will be difficult for him to use it for now.
