There sentiments comes at the time Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen acknowledged cracks in Jubilee party which he said could sabotage President Uhuru Kenyatta's service delivery.

Led by Nyeri Chapter chairman David Muthoga, the elders dismissed Mt. Kenya politicians already backing Ruto's bid.

"We shall not rely on nay politician to negotiate on our behalf because most of them only go for their interests," he said.

He added: "We must have a negotiation and an arrangement of what we want in 2022 before we enter into agreement with anyone."

The latest declaration, even though they deny having issues with Ruto, could yet again spark political debate across the country within Jubilee cycles.

Although Ruto remains at pole position to succeed Uhuru, the emergence of Baringo senator Gideon Moi, a  childhood friend of Uhuru, complicates the Kikuyu community's matrix.
