Speaking to a chicken vendor, Erick Maina said that for the past three days he has been making double profits following the Christmas celebrations this Friday.

He said that this has helped him greatly stating that this has been the best sales of his business ever since starting it three years ago.

"The business is really doing well being a festive season and we are expecting this for the rest of this week and probably next week," said Maina.

According to Gladys Muthoni a clothes vendor, she opted to change her business approach due to the festive season. She revealed that normally she sells fruits but since Saturday she opted to go for clothes as she knew the business was in demand.

"So far I have made very good sales. In a day, I make what I make in a week in my fruit business," said Muthoni.

According to Martin Njoroge a buyer said that goods were really expensive in the market being a Christmas week.

He gave an example of a chicken which he has bought for Sh1,800 which in normal circumstances he said was as cheap as Sh700.

"With our economy now, it’s really expensive but our children still know it’s Christmas and you can't explain to them about the economy because they don't know. So generally this Christmas I have spent more than Sh15,000 just to make this festive enjoyable for my family," said Njoroge.
