Kikuyu Township MCA has expressed his concerns over increased insecurity in Kidfarmco estate in Kikuyu and has called on area OCPD to step up security in the area.
This comes after cases of insecurity have been reported in the area with women and children being the most affected people in the society and residents had threatened to go on rampage over the heinous acts.
Binary Wainaina, who was speaking at Kidfarmco estate when he held a meeting with area OCPD Mathyeu Mutune on Friday, urged the police to step up and be vigilant to tame the criminals in the area.
Wainaina said that residents have been reporting to his office rather than the police station for assistance and the time had come for the OCPD to explain what his plans are in taming the perpetrators.
The MCA said that the security of the Kikuyu ward is at stake and residents need to feel comfortable in their homes rather than being harassed by young youths who are unemployed and idle.
The legislator said that he will stop at nothing to ensure the security at Kidfarmco estate is beefed up and the illicit brew menace put to an end to allow the young generations achieve vision 2030.
He faulted the county government of Kiambu for not offering employment to the youth who are idle and urged them to venture into farming to keep their minds busy or sports to further their careers and talents.
He further fired warning to the drug peddlers in the ward stating their days are numbered since he has partnered with the OCPD to launch a crackdown to apprehend those involved.
