Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung’wa has reiterated that he will not relent in his calls to the Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo to be accountable.
Inchung’wa says the governor has to be accountable to the Kiambu people and the senate over the funds disbursed to his government.
Speaking over the weekend in his constituency, Ichung’wa said that it is only Kabogo and his Bomet counterpart Isaac Ruto who have declined to appear before the senate to answer financial queries.
“All the governors who had been summoned by the senate have all honoured the summons. Why are Kabogo and Isaac Ruto finding it hard to just do like their colleagues? Ichung’wa asked.
“And when I tell him to go before the Senate, he calls me a test tube politician. But if that is the case, let me be. As the new blood in leadership, we demand accountability and business is no longer going to be as usual,” he added.
Ichung’wa said that now there is reason to believe that Kabogo and his counterpart are hiding something for their continued defiance to appear before the Senate.
The MP who is an alumnus of Alliance high school added that leaders must shun arrogance and be submissive and humble as the President and his Deputy have shown.
